KHDA honours JUN SOO KIM as educational competitions winner for his outstanding performance.
Dubai, May 24, 2010-Dubai Schools Agency in Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) honored Junsoo Kim as educational competitions winner for the academic year of 2009 – 2010 in the UAE.

HE Humaid Obaid Al Qatami, the Minister of Education, honoured him during the closing ceremony of the school activities organised by KHDA at the Dubai Police Academy, in the presence of Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of KHDA, Fatma Al Marri, CEO of Dubai Schools Agency and Brigadier Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Deputy Director of Community Services Department, Dubai Police, and principals, students and parents from public and private schools in Dubai.
HE Humaid Obaid Al Qatami said “honouring outstanding students is an essential part of the Ministry of Education’s goal of stimulating students to achieve success”. He added that the closing ceremony of school activities organised by Dubai Schools Agency in KHDA is a significant step as it has a positive effect on students and he appreciates the efforts of Principals and teachers in preparing and training students for the scientific and educational competitions to such an excellent level.
Fatma Al Marri said “These educational competitions come from an extracurricular plan for school activities during the current academic year in the UAE. This year, the activities aim to focus on the national identity of students and the security education programme, which is an initiative of Dubai Police, as well as improving students’ social and personal skills and enhancing the school environment to nurture the talents of all students.
Fatma Al Marri appreciated the efforts of schools, teachers, students and parents for participating in the activities this year and making them a success and invited all members of the educational field to continue promoting and supporting the activities for all schools in Dubai over the coming year.

Our Own English High School, Al Ain won third place in the Science Project Contest organised by ETISALAT and IDEA, Abu Dhabi
A student was placed in the top 50 on World Math Day organised by 3P Learning
A student was awarded the Sastra Pratibha title at the Sastra Pratibha Contest organised by Science India Forum, UAE & Embassy of India, UAE & IDEA

2007

A student obtained the highest mark in the world for the Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language exam
Students received Certificates of Merit for being in the top 0.1percent in 2007
A student in Grade V answered the maximum number of questions in the UAE on World Math Day.
A senior Math Teacher of presented a paper on “An Investigative and Activity based Approach of Mathematics Teaching” in the Middle East Teachers of Science, Mathematics and Computing Conference (METSMaC)
One student secured the top most marks in his age group at the Marrs Spelling Bee competition.   

2006
2 students secured 1st and 4th positions at the Gulf Chemistry Olympiad.
A teacher was honoured with the HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Inspirational Teacher Award
A student won the Cambridge Essay Competition in the 16-18 boys age group.
A student won the Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cambridge Award 

2005
Two students received Certificates of Merit for being in the top 0.1percent at Grade XII examinations.
The school won the  prestigious Government of India’s Bio Technology Award for the outstanding Academic Performance in Biology at the Grade 12 CBSE examination
The school Won the  Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cambridge ICT School Award in 2005
A teacher was honoured with the HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Inspirational Teacher Award
